First off, Project Z is very much a working title, I just haven't thought of a better one yet.

Basically, what Project Z is, is a written adventure that I will mostly be working on on my own, initially at least.  I have a lot of ideas going on in this crazy thing I call a brain, and I’m eager to get them on digital paper.  What I’m going to give you here, is a brief synopsis of what it’s about as well as character descriptions of characters that I have so far.  A lot of these characters you’ll realize are based on people I know in real life, you guys and myself included.

Project Z takes place in the fictional city of Santon.  Santon is in an undisclosed part of America, and is typically evacuated or cut off from the outside world, due largely in part because of chemical leaks and/or radiation coming from the factories and plants that litter Santon.  Santon is a highly industrial city, and that’s how it makes its money and keeps going.  It’s a relatively average size city, by our standards, but a city none-the-less.  Its population is around two hundred and fifty thousand people, most of which make a living working in the factories and plants.  The group that our story centers around has only lived there for about an average of two years between all of them.  They know the city relatively well, though they still aren’t completely familiar with how deep the industrialization of the city goes, or what goes on behind the scenes.  Which leads into the center of this story: a zombie outbreak.  Yeeeessss, I know, this can be very cliché if it’s not done right, and I intend to put a fresh spin on it to ensure it doesn’t fall into every other zombie slaughter fest.  Of course there will be plenty of zombie killing, but not only that.

The story begins after the outbreak has happened, and has been going on for at least a few months.  Most of the survivors who were living, or able to be saved were transported out by the military or police.  However, not everyone made it.  The area is now quarantined, no one is allowed in or out of Santon, that includes Military rescues.  The city is in grave danger, not just from the strange outbreak that no one really knows what caused it, but because the Military has no intentions of saving Santon, and everyone left inside who’s alive is ‘expendable’.  Our characters have been doing looting runs on various stores and bringing it back to an extremely heavily barricaded, but rather small, prison.  The prison is their ‘home’ now, and they have named it ‘Iron Sanctuary’, which is spray painted massively on the front of the prison itself.  They call it ‘Sanc’ for short, and inside of ‘Sanc’, they have a Ford F-250 that has been armored in a makeshift fashion with any materials they could find, as well as equipped with a three hundred and sixty degree mounted M249 SAW that they looted from a dead Military officer, which they mounted in the back of the truck with a makeshift tripod.  They call the truck ‘The Judicator’ or ‘Judge’ for short.

The story will deal with humans and their will to survive, as well as the effect that immense stress, fear, and paranoia can have on even the best of friends.  This group’s lives have been changed forever, and now, in their darkest hour, they need each other more than ever.

Without further ado though, my character.  He has his own nuances and specialties.

Malcolm “Six” Parker – Malcolm has lived in Santon the longest, and as such, has the best idea of what is going on inside of the city.  He’s a bit headstrong in most cases, and stubborn when it comes to quitting.  He’s also fiercely loyal to those he cares about, and will go out of his way to save them when in danger, even at the expense of himself or others.  He considers himself the leader of the group, and while most don’t have issues listening to him and following his lead, they don’t consider him to be in charge, and remind him of this multiple times.  When faced with dire situations, Malcolm tends to get very stressed out and will snap at people over the smallest of things, most of the group knows not to push him when he’s close to breaking point.  He carries with him at all times his customized chrome finish SVI Infinity handgun.  He’s had it for many years and never goes anywhere without it secured in his underarm holster.  It’s showing it’s age, however, as scratches line the slide as well as the grip.  It has not failed to fire yet though, not even jammed on him.  Not once.  He considers the handgun lucky due in part to this, and refuses to replace it.  Malcolm is also a bit of a gun fetishist.  He absolutely loves firearms, handguns in particular, and knows a great deal about how they work, how to fix them, and the ideal firearm in most situations.  He is the ‘go-to-guy’ about all firearm related questions.  Also, due to his brief service in the military, he has a basic understanding of squad tactics and formations, which he uses liberally as if showing off, even if the formations don’t make sense.

Well now it's YOUR turn .  Post your ideas, suggestions, comments, as well as your character so I can work him or her into the story.  I very much would like this to be a group project as much as it can be, and I would eventually like to make this into a graphic novel.  Your character can be just about anything, but naturally keep it within the realm of the story.  However, that does not mean that if you are male you cannot make a female character, you can make a character of either gender, and in fact I encourage that.  Try to think how your character would think in a dire situation like this one.  Be sure to post what he or she is good at, what they aren't so good at, their mental state and nuances, and their personality.  You may add a firearm, weapon, or item that they are attached to, or multiple items, just once again, keep it in moderation.
